During early September 2011, CAS presented risk management and crop insurance information to beginning producers attending high school vo-ag and FFA progarms in four states: SD, CO, DE, and KS.  CAS presenters included Ryan Mangus, Keith Kennedy, John Mangus, and Shylea Wingard.   CAS presented "Farming is Risky Business," which introduces basic agricultural risk and risk mangement concepts using an interactive "farming game" format.  Teachers appreciate the interactive nature of the program and creative way risk management concepts are taught.  All participants received information about basic risk, risk management, and crop insurance topics.    The series of workshops were coordinated with the USDA's Risk Management Agency (RMA).  Personnel in RMA's Billings and Topeka Regional Offices and the Delaware Dept. of Ag assisted in reviewing content for the events, which were attended by several hundred beginning producers. CAS also thanks the FFA executive secretary in each state for providing school information and the ag instructors for the opportunity.
