CAS' Clif Parker Presents at 28th Milford Aquaculture Seminar

CAS' Clif Parker presented crop insurance information at the 28th Milford Aquaculture Seminar held February 25th through the 27th in Meriden, CT.  The event was coordinated by the NOAA Fisheries Northeast Fisheries Science Center's Milford Laboratory, and CAS' participation was sponsored and coordinated with the USDA's Risk Management Agency (RMA).  The presentation was conducted under a RMA-CAS Risk Management Partnerhsip to inform Northeast U.S. clam producers about the structure, benefits, and limitations of RMA's Cultivated Clam Pilot Program.

 

Parker's presentation began with a brief introduction to risk and risk management concepts.  The presentation then turned to an explanation of crop insurance principles.  Next, Parker discussed risk management options available to clam producers.  Parker then provided a detailed explanation of the features of RMA's Pilot Clam Program.  Following the presentation, Parker responded to attendees' questions.
