CAS and the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) worked together to deliver risk management and crop insurance program information to dozens of producers attending county farm bureau annual meetings in October. The outreach was conducted as part of the USDA/RMA/CAS Targeted States Partnership to inform Massachusetts agricultural producers about the availability and benefits of Federal crop insurance programs.
CAS' John Mangus and Kole Swanser attended county farm bureau annual meetings in Bristol, Norfolk, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire Counties from October 9 - 17, 2008. Mangus and Swanser interacted informally with attending producers and also delivered a brief presentation describing the availability, features, benefits, and limitations of Federal crop insurance programs. The presenters also answered attendees' questions about crop insurance programs. Attending producers were offered RMA program fact sheets and directed to the RMA website for additional program information and a listing of local crop insurance agents. |
