On October 1, 2007, Custom Ag Solutions began work on ten risk management education partnerships funded by the USDA's Risk Management Agency.  The projects will benefit producers of a wide range of commodities in eleven states as detailed below:

  • Crop Insurance Training for Massachusetts Producers;
  • Crop Insurance Training for Nevada Producers;
  • Livestock Risk Protection (LRP) Program Training for California Producers;
  • Clam Insurance Program Training and Risk Management Education for Eastern U.S. Producers;
  • Cherry Crop Insurance Program Training and Risk Management Education for Michigan Producers;
  • Livestock Risk Protection (LRP) Program Training for Idaho and Oregon Producers;
  • Risk Management Training for North Carolina Christmas Tree Growers;
  • Risk Management Training for Michigan Christmas Tree Growers;
  • Risk Management Training for Wisconsin Christmas Tree Growers;
  • Risk Management Training for Oregon and Washington Christmas Tree Growers.

Based in Cowley, Wyoming, Custom Ag Solutions  develops and delivers producer tools and education programs for the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Risk Management Agency (RMA).

CAS’ programs improve U.S. agricultural producers’ understanding of risk management principles and strategies and lead to better producer decisions about crop insurance program participation.  Since being established in 2004, CAS has been awarded 22 USDA/RMA partnership contracts covering nearly every state and dozens of agricultural commodities ranging from apples to livestock to wheat.

CAS maintains a special focus on risk management issues related to livestock production and Christmas tree production, and CAS also works extensively on education programs for the nation’s beginning producers.

In additional to its work for the USDA, CAS engages in private-sector work, including agricultural property appraisals in Wyoming and Montana and technology development involving neural networks, genetic algorithms, and large databases.
