On September 28, 2006, Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns announced awards of close to $21 million in agricultural risk management partnership agreements throughout the United States. The agreements provide funds for projects to develop new risk management tools for farmers and ranchers, as well as outreach and education opportunities to limited-resource and other traditionally underserved farmers and ranchers.

Wyoming's Custom Ag Solutions received four education partnerships to educate producers in five states as follows:

  • Crop Insurance Training for Massachusetts Producers;
  • Crop Insurance Training for Nevada Producers;
  • Risk Management Training for Michigan Christmas Tree Growers;
  • Risk Management Training for Oregon and Washington Christmas Tree Growers.

In addition, CAS is partnered with Kansas State University, Utah State University Extension, and University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension on four additional RMA partnerships.  The USDA Announcement can be viewed on the USDA/RMA website.
